Head of IT Services at the University of the Faroe Islands

Responsibilities/Tasks
You will report directly to the University Director, and your key tasks will include:
Leading the IT Services department at the University
Developing and implementing our IT strategies, policies, and procedures
Representing the University in connection with our new student administration system
Provide IT related guidance related to the planned new university campus
Manage financial resources of the IT department
Collaborate closely with management, relevant staff (including the newly established IT Committee) to align goals with university-wide IT initiatives
Finding solutions to IT challenges in research, teaching, and administration
Oversee operations across departments, enhancing the educational and research experience for students, faculty, and administrative staff
Continuously keeping up with developments in the IT field, both locally and internationally
About You

Take the lead in IT/ICT/digitization and are active and curious about the field.
· Good language skills in Faroese, a Scandinavian language, and English are preferred. It is expected that successful candidates, who are not native Faroese speakers, will acquire Faroese language skills within 3-4 years. See also the University’s language policy here.
